Chile hits by 8.8 Magnitude of Earthquake

A deadly earthquake with a magnitude of 8.8 hits the central Chile.

There is an occurrence of a massive earthquake in the central part of Chile. The earthquake had an 8.8 magnitude that struck the area that killed about 85 people and suspected to produce tsunami.

Chile capital Santiago trembled due to the earthquake’s vibration. The capital was shaken for almost a minute and a half in an early hour of this day.

This caused the collapsed of power lines and telecommunication system in the region.

The president of Chile, Michelle Bachelet said that over 86 people died in the catastrophe in the region of Maule.

The president declared the capital into the state of calamity. She said that the country had experience a massive earthquakes and encounter some occurrences of aftershocks events. Their government did everything the way they can.

She stated that the calamity happened in their country that has a high intensity and magnitude can lead to more deaths of the people in their nation.

According to the Interior minister of Chile, Edmundo Perez Yoma, the earthquake was really destructive, it can damage a lot of properties and he believed that the death toll will be rising.

There are some businesses and establishments that were forced to close, such as the international airport based in Santiago.

There are some bridges along the hi-way were distorted and collapsed, buildings and other properties and fell on to the road and streets.

A person who experienced the earthquake thought it was almost the end of the world.  According to that person it was the first time he ever experienced that kind of disaster.

There are some tsunami warning issued in 53 other countries, due to the gigantic wave hit the populated Island along the coast of Chile, the Robinson Crusoe Island.

The warning was released to informed places along the shore that can be threatened by tsunami for early prevention.
