White House Talked about Immigration Problem

white houseImmigrant community activists in the United States expressed regret today alleged attempts by the White House to avoid the involvement of Congress in a press conference last week, called to demand a halt to the deportations.

“It’s very sad for many of us, that we support, see President Barack Obama trying to silence our voices and those of Congress who have the courage to support their communities,” said Gustavo Andrade, organization Casa de Maryland.

The activist asked 100 thousand cease deportations are carried out per day, stop anti-immigrant programs and Safe Communities 287g of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and suspend immigration audits and electronic verification of employment.  According to Bloomberg news agency, White House officials contacted the Democratic Reps. “Our focus remains on building the bipartisan consensus needed to achieve a legislative solution that results in the comprehensive reform of the immigration system,” he said.

The source cited statements made last week by President Obama at a forum with Hispanic students, which indicated that it may suspend the deportation by executive orders because we must enforce the laws passed by Congress.  Obama said at the time that would not be appropriate in your role as president ignore these mandates of Congress, but emphasized its focus on the deportation of immigrants with criminal records.

Through a screen with virtual keyboard, this system allows structure to convey ideas through a range of characters, words and phrases that are prerecorded and software that are played through emulation of the human voice.  Who makes use of the software has the ability to use the keyboard, mouse, or various types of switches to form the ideas you express. This can be generated or hear phrases like “I need to go to the bathroom”, “I need my medicine,” “I have hunger”, “I want to go to school”, “It hurts,” among a myriad of possibilities.

The science teacher Alarcon Jorge, director of the Department of Engineering of the UIA and project leader said that there are cases in which the inability of the speech is accompanied by other motor dysfunction. These people, he said, require accessibility options to manipulate the system.

It can be configured so that the person using a specialized device as an interface to the computer, or using a scanning mode permits the use of which automatically goes over the different elements that appear on the virtual keyboard, allowing controlling sentence is meant by a single motion, like a toe, foot or head.   To this end, the system can incorporate certain types of attachments as levers (joysticks), different types of buttons, switches and even combine them with key systems based on pictures or icons to represent complete ideas.

The Syrian Security Forces Arrested Dozens of People

massThe Syrian security forces arrested dozens of people, officials said Saturday human rights groups, after thousands of protesters would join a public outcry that represents the biggest challenge the government of President Bashar al-Assad.  The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights appointed 21 people they said were detained by Syrian security forces in the southern city of Dera, where the unrest first erupted two weeks ago, and Homs, north of the capital.

“It is assumed that their arrests with the outcome of recent protests,” he said in a statement on the human rights group.

“Group requires that the Syrian authorities to release all detainees opinion and conscience and stop the practice of arbitrary arrests of political opponents and civil society activists and human rights,” he added.

Ammar Qurabi, activist of the National Organization for Human Rights, appointed 24 other demonstrators who were arrested in Damascus and Homs Douma, according to a statement.  Thousands of people took to the streets in major cities after Friday prayers, defying security forces fired tear gas, ammunition and used batons to disperse protesters who have rejected a call for limited reform of Assad.

Witnesses said security forces killed at least three demonstrators on Friday in the suburb of Douma in Damascus, which led to more than 60 the number killed in protests that were inspired by the popular uprisings that have shaken the Arab world.

The crisis could have wider implications in that Syria has borders with Lebanon, Israel, Turkey, Jordan and Iraq, and is at the heart of the Middle East conflict, while maintaining an anti-Israel alliance with Iran and supports militant groups Hamas and Hezbollah.

Nissan Will Suspend Its Production in Mexico and USA

nissan-recallJapanese automaker Nissan announced today it will suspend some of its production in Mexico and the United States later this month, due to a possible delay in the supply of parts after the earthquake and tsunami on 11 March.  In addition, similar measures adopted two other large companies such as Toyota and Honda, which reduced manufacturing operations in the area of ​​North America.  According to Japanese news agency Kyodo, citing sources Nissan, two assembly plants in Tennessee and Mississippi suspend operations for a total of six days, on 8 April, 11, and 18 to 21.

Child Trafficking in Haiti Increases

kidsUnited Nations has found a “sharp increase in cases of child trafficking” Haitians to neighboring countries, especially the Dominican Republic, for its exploitation as labor or sexual abuse, according to a report the agency released today.  This is a document sent by the UN secretary general, Ban Ki-moon, the UN Security Council on the work of the Stabilization Mission in Haiti (MINUSTAH), between September 2010 and March 20, 2011 .

The report, sent by MINUSTAH, says that according to the Child Protection Brigade National Police (HNP) of 11 thousand 774 children subject to controls at border posts and at the airport in Port au Prince in 2010, traveling without a legal document two thousand 509 and other 459 were identified as victims of trafficking.  Also notes that “rape and attempted rape of minors, trafficking in children for illegal adoption, theft and armed robbery have continued, although he has dropped the number of child abductions.

The document says that traffickers are valid for this illegal airstrips and private boats and even submarines transiting the coast of the island.
