Katy Perry wows critics with her latest album
Pop singer Katy Perry wowed U.S. critics on Tuesday with the release of her second major-label album, packed with hype and giggly pop songs that will surely entice the fans.
Perry, 25 was once dubbed as a one-hit wonder with the release of her first single in 2008 “I Kissed a Girl” that helped her rise to stardom, released 12 of her new songs in her much anticipated album “Teenage Dream,” which includes the summer smash hit single “California Gurls.”
The album, which covering was suggested to smell like cotton candy with a picture of Katy Perry lying naked on pink clouds attributes lyrics about her personal life with a twist of love, sex, relationships and youth. Next week will be the release of the much awaited album all over Europe and all throughout the world and has been profoundly endorsed as a joyful summer record.
However, Rolling Stone magazine granted the album three out of five stars, stating that it is way ahead to beat Perry’s breakthrough album “One of the Boys,” with her witted songwriting prowess that was enhanced by top producers, which includes some leading European song producers.
According to USA Today, Perry’s resemblance with being provoking and mischievous has strong competition from Lady Gaga and nothing in her latest album may match with Madonna’s most unforgettable hits.
Perry was born in California and a former singer-songwriter who began by recording a flopped gospel album in Nashville, is engaged with British actor and comedian Russell Brand.
Moreover, critics rated her latest album is the same with her first album that gave the hits like “Hot n Cold” and Thinking of You, both made it big to the music charts worldwide. Since then, she has gone with Brand having a quirky over-the-top image and witty, playful persona.
