Lindsay Lohan free from jail, now to go in rehab
Troubled actress Lindsay Lohan has been released behind bars, but she is not closely a free woman.
According to witnesses, the actress walked out of an uptown Los Angeles jail at 1:35 a.m.
Monday after serving 14 days of a 90-day verdict for violating her trial in a 2007 drug case. By now, she will be obliged to start a three-month period in rehabilitation center.
A judge from Beverly Hills, California ordered Lohan to report to rehab within a day of her discharge from jail. The judge also stated that during Lohan’s surrender on July 20 that she had no power over how long the actress would be imprisoned, but she required Lohan to server her time at women’s jail controlled by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The facility in Lynwood serves host to few starlets, which includes socialite Paris Hilton and Michelle Rodriguez. In 2007, Lohan spent 84 minutes after being convicted for her original case.
In 2007 after being sentenced on her case, Lohan spent 84 minutes at the prison. At that time, prisoners serving time for passive misdemeanors were serving about 10 percent of their sentences; by now, that figure increased to 25 percent.
Since Lohan was imprisoned July 20; media personnel have been situated outside the jail, which took photos of Lohan’s mother and sister coming for an appointment.
The starlet’s conviction put her several projects on hold, which includes her starring role as Linda Lovelace in a true story on the porn star’s life.
In August 2007, Lohan appealed guilty to two misconduct counts of being under the pressure of cocaine; no dispute to two counts of driving with a blood-alcohol level above 0.08 percent and one count of irresponsible driving. After that she was condemned for three years under probation.
